Good to see the worldwide reach of this site add another nation to the list.

To anyone who's turned off by the 73.3MB filesize of blaze's link, I downloaded it to see what it was.  It's an assortment of clips of SA2 levels, showing off trick points.  You probably already know of most of them for Sonic and Shadow.  Tails' and Eggman's sections show how you can get a bunch of x10 and x11 lock-ons, as well as the obvious but useless x32 in Weapons Bed.  It finishes off with the Death Chamber 3 floor clip (albeit with a bad point of re-entry to the stage), the double-perfect in Dry Lagoon 5, and the good old Meteor Herd 5 divebomb to close out that level in 0:44.95 which would be good for 5th place.  Altogether, rather well put together, except for the low quality audio used in Tails' section (taken from his SA1 theme instead of SA2 for some reason).

[EDIT] I didn't see it at first, since I have signatures turned off, but the 0060 link in blaze's signature is Cannon's Core 1 in 1:32.02 (the 640x480 resolution combined with the 7:09 file length makes it unlikely to be added to the videos page for now).  A lot of it is already known to top players here, but there's some exceptional placement management in Eggman's first moving block room, and it turns out Knuckles can jam through the ceiling without having to use a moving block (more like Death Chamber that way), meaning the timestop switch in that room can be taken advantage of.  I used that new method to cut 9 seconds off my Cannon's Core 5 time [EDIT2] and 15 seconds off m1, as well as 16 off m3.

Welcome. It's nice to see some foreign gamers here, since all of us are either Europeans, Canadians, or Americans.

We own them more than 50:50 in SA2:B.

Ninty whooped the Japs at Adv1.

Im pretty sure me, Ninty and Douglas did the same for Adv2.

Thats 3 games off the top of my head. Plus Im quite sure Sprint owns them at S3&K and Ghost owns them at S1 *shrug*

In conclusion:

Where did you get the stats for all of this? I've always wanted to see how we compare to the Japanese players in SH and ShTH. Anyways, welcome aboard.
Ever know what its like to get pwned by a book? Sonic certainly does.

The site SM linked us to a while back, which had Jap times (and Scores) listed for
Adv1/2/SA2 and I think SA1 too.

The page I linked to for their records is http://tails03.sonicteam.com/bbs/expert_ja/000077/04/ .  The second post starts out with Sonic's records in story order, then Knuckles', then Tails'.  The next post is the same for Dark, with Shadow followed by Rouge and Eggman, then there's Cannon's Core/Route 101/Route 280/Green Hill plus boss and kart.    Then there's posts for Advance 1, Advance 2, Advance 2 bosses, empty charts for Advance 3, then (finally!) SA2 scores (in a different order; Sonic-Shadow-Tails-Eggman-Knuckles-Rouge-Cannon's Core-Green Hill).

Adventure 1 was on a different board, found by F-Man: http://sonic.dricas.ne.jp/sonicadv/bbs/e/e...qixfu_ALL.shtml

You have to remember though that these are probably just your average japanese gamers that shared their times for sonic time attack. They probably don't specialize in sonic time attack and are probably posted their times for a little friendly competition (just an assumption) much like the many time attack topics you see at other ENGLISH sonic forums. The difference between the two however is that the average english times SUCK compared to the average japanee times. The japanese times come fairly close to the Sonic Center times.

Just imagine if there was a group of japanese gamers who were as dedicated to time attacking sonic games as we are...oh the possibilities...sub 20 seconds neogreen hill maybe? ZOMG!

So ya...we whoop their times...but nobody ever said they were the best japanese sonic gamers in the world (of Japan)

BTW I decided to go check the japanese SADX records that beat us. Here they are:

Sonic
Emerald Coast: 1:07:?? (by ポヨポヨ) - hmph...
Speed Highway: 0:58:?? (by ポヨポヨ)- Even some guy on there was suspicious about it. I couldn't really make anything out of the reply because babelfish sucks.

Knuckles
Sky Deck: 0:10:40 (by あち) - whoa, I suppose that could be possible, if you get them all in places that don't need to tilt the ship (is that even possible?)

Amy
ZERO: 0:00:35 (by てーるす) - W.T.F.

Sonic
Emerald Coast: 1:07:?? (by ポヨポヨ) -  maybe possible, probably a perfect run.
Speed Highway: 0:58:?? (by ポヨポヨ)- I seriously doubt it.

Amy
ZERO: 0:00:35 (by てーるす) - unless their fight with Zero is completely different from the US version, impossible.
